This article show you a guide on how to install and configure FORScan software for OHP ELMconfig USB adapter.
Procedures:
Step 1:Install Windows drivers for OHP ELMconfig USB device:
1.Click here:http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm to install Window driver.
2.Connect OHP ELMconfig device to available USB port of Windows laptop. Go to Device Manager and confirm device has been successfully added to Ports (COM & LPT) – USB Serial Port (COM#). Confirm device is working properly.
Note: suggest checking periodically for updated drivers.
Step 2:Install and Configure FORScan Software
1.Download and install FORScan software:FORScan Android/iOS/Window Free Download
2.Open FORScan software
3.Click on Gear icon
4.Configure FORScan General and Connection tabs as shown below
5.After registering on FORScan Forum, obtain FORScan Extended License . After registering it may take up to 48 hours for a FORScan Administrator to validate your registration and allow obtaining an Extended License.
Note: FORScan Extended License must be renewed every 60 days.

Step 3:Connect OHP ELMconfig device to vehicle and start FORScan
1.Confirm toggle switch on OHP ELMconfig device is in HS-CAN position.
2.With Ignition key in off position, connect OHP ELMconfig device to OBD-II port of vehicle
3.Connect OHP ELMconfig device to USB port of laptop
4.Turn ignition key of vehicle to on position – do not start vehicle
5.Open FORScan
6.Click on “Connect to Vehicle” icon on lower LH corner of screen.
Note: when connecting if FORScan says “No ELM Found”, flip the toggle switch to the other position and restart the connection process.If the OHP ELMconfig USB device connects, this is the HS-CAN position.Mark the adapter accordingly.
7.FORScan will find all HS-CAN Modules.
8.FORScan will notify user when to toggle switch on OHP ELMconfig device to MS-CAN position 9FORScan will now find all MS-CAN Modules
Step 4:Backup all Modules
Before using FORScan to make changes to any module, make a backup copy of each module’s original As Built configuration.Check this article:How to Use FORScan to Backup Module Data File
