Risk of burns
Risk of burns due to hot surfaces resulting from the electromagnetic brake heating
up during operation.
Allow the brake to cool.
Disassembling the spring-loaded brake
Requirements
Truck parked securely – see operating instructions.
Tools and Material Required
Compressed air
Spring-loaded brake (if necessary)
Procedure
Undo the screw connections (7) of the spring-loaded brake (8) and lift off the spring-loaded brake.
CAUTION!
Danger due to spring-oaded components. Do not disassemble the spring-loaded brake any further.
Lift off the brake disc (1) and friction disc (2).
Measure the thickness of the brake disc (2) and compare it to the minimum value (5,7 mm)
if the measured thickness is less than the minimum value, the complete spring loaded brake must be replaced.
If the spring-loaded brake needs to be replaced: Undo the electrical connection of the spring-loaded brake – see service manual module 001 002 502 00004
Check the adaptor (3), feather key (4) and snap ring (5) for damage and replace if necessary.
CAUTION!
Risk of eye injuries. Wear safety goggles and a dust mask
If necessary, clean all components of the spring-loaded brake with compressed air.
Assembling the spring-loaded brake
Procedure
Insert the feather key (4) into the drive shaft (6).
Slide the adaptor (3) onto the drive shaft (6) and secure with the snap ring (5).
Apply the friction disc (2) and brake disc (1) to the spring-loaded brake and tighten with a torque of 8 Nm.
Establish the electrical connection of the spring-loaded brake – see service manual module 001 002 502 00004
Carry out a function check of the spring-loaded brake (9).
The spring-oaded brake is now assembled.
