DESCRIPTION

The rod end is connected to the cylinder through a threaded connection. The connection provides adjustment of the tilt cylinder to ensure uniform tilting of the mast.

A lock nut, lock nut retaining tab and a set screw are used to keep the threaded connection tight.

COMPLIANCE

1.At the next available service event (preventative or unplanned downtime) the connection on each tilt cylinder needs to examined and tightened.

2.Tools needed: Hammer and chisel, (to bend locking tab), 1/8” hex wrench (set screw),and Bendi Tilt Cylinder Lock Nut Wrench (154545)

3.Using hammer and chisel, bend locking retainer tabs back to free the nut.

4.Loosen set screw.

5.Tighten lock nut using Bendi Tilt Cylinder Lock Nut Wrench. Tighten 1/10 to 1/8 turn after nut is in contact with retainer.

6.Remove set screw, apply a drop of Blue Loctite, (#243) or equivalent to the threads. Reinstall and tighten set screw.

7.Bend locking tabs around lock nut.

8.When finished the joint will appear as shown
