Some time ago,I replaced a new electric steering pump for Ford Focus.The old is damaged in a accidence.I replaced new one and modified it for it.In this article i will guide on how adjust Ford Focus maunal transmisson electric steering pump after replacement.Hope it is helpul for some freshman.If you are a skillful auto technicans,just dismiss this.
STEP 1: You need to replace new electric steering pump.You wiil find there is a yellow light on at bottom left corner of dashboard after replacing new electric steering pump.It means power steering system trouble.If you use x431 to read trouble code:B2477,it means control unit configure incorrectly.
STEP 2:Use x431 to modify.
Power on X431–>Special Function–>Control Unit Program–>Set ignition switch position 2(dashboard light on)–>Set ignition switch position 1(turn to position I,dashboard light off)–>replace new electric steering pump–>Set ignition switch position 2–>Set ignition switch position 1–>Modify successful.
Note:You need to use diagnostic tool read old electric steering pump configuration data.Replace the new on when it remind you to replace new electric steering pump.Otherwise,it will fault to configure new electric steering pump.
