HINO 300 Series COE Truck Idle Shut Down by HINO DX2

This instruction show you guide on how to use HINO DX2 to perform idel shut-down for HINO 300 series COE truck.More case for HINO please refer to:HINO Trouble Repair.

 

Preparations:

Nexiq USB2 Diagnostic Adapter

2024.03 HINO Diagnostic Explorer DX3/DX2 Diagnostic Software Free Download

HINO Trucks EPC Electronic Parts Catalog 2018 2016 Free Download

 

 

Procedures:

Connect HINO diagnostic interface to truck diagnostic port

Run HINO DX2 software,select Customization, 300 Series; be sure to select Engine and VCS shown below, then Read Out.

Select VCS (Vehicle Control System) Execute Customize Menu.

Select Customization tab,highlight parameter 68 and from Set Value column, click ON, then click Write.

Once complete, click Write, then OK.

Verify Success of the written parameter, then Click OK;be sure the ignition is turned off for 60 seconds for changes to take place. Once complete, turn ignition on and select engine in the upper left corner.

Click Execute Customize Menu

Locate Idle Shutdown Enable Flag No. 200 parameter. If this parameter is not set to 1 in the set value column, then from Select Value column, click and select 1 to enable idle shutdown; VCS Changes must take place prior to changing Engine ECU selections.

Scroll down to Idle Shutdown Active Without Parking Brake Applied No. 351 parameter.

From Select Value column,click and select 1 to enable idle shutdown without park brake applied.

Scroll down to Idle Shutdown Time Setting No. 438 parameter. Click Set Value box and type in number of minutes from when Idle Shutdown should occur.

Once complete, click Write, then OK.

Verify Success, then Click OK;be sure the ignition is turned off for 60 seconds for changes to take place.

Verify Operation: Start the truck and verify that the idle timer is functioning correctly at the  desired time.

For the Idle Shutdown to operate, the coolant temperature must be at least 123oF. If Idle

Shutdown Active Without Parking Brake Applied No. 351 parameter was not enabled in the engine ECU, the parking brake must be applied and the engine RPM must be at 750 before the

timer will start.
