How to Program Key for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep 24LC02B

Here I want share this guide on how to program keys for Chrysler 300 1999-2000.

 

Compatible Vehicle Models:

Chrysler Concorde 1999-2000,Chrysler Sebring1998-2000,Dodge Stratus 1998-1999,Dodge Intrepid 1999-2000,Jeep Grand Cherokee 1999-2000.

Note:Jeep Grand Cherokee isn’t optional.They all have this type immo

 

Device Used in This Guide:

Orange 5 Reader

Zedbull plus EEPROM

4D64(8 SOIC)/TPX2/EH2 transponders

 

Procedures:

On most of the car models,the appearance of a red dome LED on the top of the dash,just below the windshield and slightly to the passengers side of the car,is a solid indication of the immo system.Have the customer check before you quote.

Our target module is the SKIM or antenna around the ignition lock.

Remove the T20 that secures the tilt handle in place.

Remove the 2 or 3 T20 that secure the shroud around the column.Sometimes a skinny shafted driver is required.

Looking straight up from the floor,here is a view of the target module.Disconnect the single plug and remove the single securing screw.

Here is our Sentery Key Immo Module “SKIM”.Different vehicles will use variations in design but the board is the same.

The cover snaps off.But the target device is on the reverse.The two points that go to the areal are the only connection to the board.The plug stays attached to the board.

So I alternate between heating each pin and lifting from below on that same side.Then switch till it lifts out.

Finally our target device,24LC02B.As usual with an unknown module,I choose to desolder the device.It is only legs.

Remove the lacquer.Isolate the device.Hot air.And remove the device from the circuit.

I recommend confining the device to it’s adaptor at your earliest convenience.Just be careful with there “Clam Shell” type as the release lever is easy to bump open and eject the device.

Now insert the loaded adaptor in to the orange 5hardware.I recommend using bright nail polish to mark your PIN 1 orientation on the adaptor and the orange 5 to speed up the process till you can remember in the future.

With the orange 5 connected,start the SW.Click the Type button in the menu bar.If you noticed our device is a MicroChip brand,which may not always be the case but orange 5 does seem to make a distinction.Groupsà1EEPROMàMicroChipà24LC02

Also note that our device is actually a 24LC02B.The closest selection that orange 5 had under MicroChip was 24LC02 so we use that.If the programmer doesn’t recognize the file,the next thing I would attempt would be a read under 24LC02B under a different manufacturer.This would not be an unusual situation to come upon.And save every read along the way till the programmer recognizes.Always a way to return.Common sense prevails.

You should be ready to read in green in menu bar.This should result in a similar BIN as this example.

Lets get the compare and save out of the way and then discuss this BIN file for a moment.

Both our VIN and more importantly,our PIN are right in front of us.Nothing else would is need to program the car via the OBD port from here.

But if we have a Zedbull,we don’t need no stinking PIN codes.Connect and start the SW.Extended FunctionàEEPROM MCU Appliations.

You can click open file or a great feature of the bull is the auto bin identify.Simply drag and drop the file anywhere on this screen and see what happens.Wonderful at helping identify unknow bin files.TMPro and Miraclone also have this feature.

This should be the result.Your options screen for this immo system,with all the details.Device types,usable transponder,and click on the images in the buttom left.

Click calculate pin code displays what we already know.Place your choice of usable transponders in the bull aerial.Click transponder programming.

With a TPX2 in the bull,I click ok and we are done.Because we cloned a key out of the BIN,all that is necessary is to return everything and test.No rewrite of the BIN on the device is needed when cloning out.
