How to Renew & Adapt ELV After Replacement for FIAT 500X by AVDI

This instruction show you guide on how to renew & adapt a new one or used ESL ELV for FIAT 500X by AVDI programmer.For more FIAT projects,check here:FIAT Trouble Repair.

 

Procedures:

Check the FIAT 500X ELV ESL location as below

Remove it from vehicle and open the shell to remove the PCB

Remove the chip from PCB

Solder the chip on AVDI ZN045 adapter and connect it to AVDI programmer

 

Run ABPROG software

Select “I2C EEPROM”–>”24c16″

Click read button,then save the bin file you read on PC

Run ABRITES Diagnostics software to select “FIAT CHRYSLER (FCA)”–>”FB 500X”

Click special function tag to select “Dump tool”

Select “ESL/ELV-Fiat 500X,Jeep Renegade” and click “Load” button to load the bin file you save just now

Then click “Make Virgin” to virgin and save it as a VIRGIN bin file.

 

Now back to ABPROG software to write the VIRGIN bin file back to “24C16” chip.And solder chip on PCB (new one or used),then install ELS/ELV module to vehicle.

 

Run ABRITES Diagnostics software to select “FIAT CHRYSLER (FCA)”–>”FB 500X”

 

Connect ZN038 to AVDI programmer,then click “Scan for Unit” button

After scan finish,click special function tag to select “Key Learning”

Select “FIAT”–>”500X”,then click “Continue”

Select “Read PIN Code”,then click “Continue”

Now it will show you the PIN code,you can write down the PIN code somewhere (also cached in the software)

Back to scan result list to select “Body Controller(BCM)”

Select “Misc Functions”

Select “Transfer secret key to ESL ECM”,then click “Continue”.This routine is used to allow BCM to transfer secret keys to ECM and ESL operating on the protection of the BCM.

Enter Vehicle PIN(Personal Identification Number),click “Continue”

Activate the Hazard Lights

It will ask you to turn the ignition key to the OFF position,click “Continue”

Now turn ignition to ON position

Procedure terminated correctly

Back to Misc Function menu to select “Read PROXI”

Use this function to read PROXI data from ECU and save it to a file.

Please enter name to save file

Back to scan result list to select “Electronic Steering Lock(ESL)”

Then click “Misc Function” to select “Write PROXI”,then click “Continue”

Write the Proxy bin file you save just now

The procedures completed successfully.

Now,it is time to test if the car will now start
