How to repair Mercedes Benz dashboard backlight can’t work

Many Mercedes Benz driver dashboard use high voltage light bulbs as backlight sources.This kind of high voltage light bulbs need to be power by high voltage AC,else will work incorrectly.Dashboard backlight can not work is a very common problem of Benz dashboard trouble.So,in this artilce i share my experience about how to fix benz dashboard backlight can not work.

Diagnosis and analysis:

According to my repair experience,the reason of benz dashboard backlight can’t work is mostly due to the secondary transformer overheating,it resulting in transformer internal high voltage coil short circuit and transformer damaged.There is no heat filters between dashboard and secondary boosting transformer,and heating resistor is too close to secondary boosting transformer.In winter,heating resistor heats the secondary boosting transformer too long to occur short circuit in the secondary transformer.The heating resistor is not designed for secondary transformers,itdamage the secondary transformer if heating too long.The heating resistance is used for warm preheating in the winter,spring and autumn.

How to repair benz dashboard backlight can not work?

• Replace the high voltage transformer.
• Install heat filters between dashboard and secondary boosting transformer.
• Leave a gap between the dashboard and the secondary boost transformer
