How to Solve Fendt 800 Vario S4 wayline Running Slow

If the vehicle is oscillating on the wayline or catches up the wayline very slowly there may be several reasons, e.g.

Preparations:

AGCO EDT 2024

AGCO 2×4 CANUSB 930203400

Fendt Fendias 2024 v2

IMU calibration required

Steering valve is defective or

Steering valve calibration required

Steering angle sensor calibration required (front wheels must be in exact straight-ahead position when required during calibration)

Steering settings, see → Settings → Steering

Implement settings (see → manual of the implement)

Front axle ballast

Lower link stabilization setting

Significant difference in tire pressure between left and right tires

Steering angle sensor clearance

Front axle bearing clearance

Pressure supply to steering system

Internal / external leak in the steering system / steering cylinder

How to Solve Fendt 800 Vario S4 wayline Running Slow (1)

Exclusion of a mechanical defect/wear…

on the front axle (front axle clearance, axle center pin)

on the steering system (internal leak)

on the steering angle sensor

Find a field area which is as flat and uniformly worked as possible

Set the most accurate correction signal available

Fully boot the system, i.e. maximum possible number of bars A are displayed for location and correction signal

No implement present or implement not raised

1 Record the A-B wayline (see operating instructions)

2 Start FENDIAS

3 Under Diagnostics, select Vehicle

4 Connect the diagnostics adapter:

CAN1 = K bus (comfort bus)

CAN2 = G bus (transmission bus)

5 Confirm with OK

6 In the top menu bar under Comfort, select Differential lock

7 Diagnostics of steering angle sensor (see arrow)

8 With the automatic track guidance switched on, drive along the A-B wayline while simultaneously monitoring the value of the steering angle sensor

Calibration OK: The value fluctuates between ±0.1° and ±0.4°

If the sensor value is > ±3°, the automatic wayline guidance switches off and fault code 0E.1.A2 appears in the instrument cluster

The sensor value is almost independent of the correction signal if the time between creating the track line and automatically driving along the way-line is no longer than 15 minutes

Note: If the value fluctuates by more than ±0.4°calibration code 2401 must be carried out and a mechanical defect or wear must be ruled out.
