Sometime when you try to use INSITE 8.9 diagnostic software and INLINE6 diagnostic adapter to connect to engine ECM,it will prompt you with connection error number 5202.Here car-auto-repair.com show you guide on how to solve it.
Preparations:
INSITE 8.9.2 Engine Diagnostic Software
Cummings INLINE 6 Diagnostic Adapter
INSITE and INLINE 6 Error Number 5202:
Communication between the computer and datalink adaper could not be establish.
Please check cables between the computer and datalink adaper for proper connection and condition.
Reason:
Some engine ECM of Cummings can not support auto detect (J1939 or J1708),so you need select correct protocols to build connection.
Procedures:
After INLINE 6 Datalink adapter connection build from PC to engine ECM,run INSITE diagnostic software.
Select “Add New”
The ECM Connection Wizard will guide you to through creating a connection to a Datalink Adapter or ECM Simulator.
Click “Next”
Select “RP1210 Adapter”,and click “Nexit”
After then select as below:
Vendor:INLINE 6
Adapter:INLINE6 USB
Protocol:J1939 (If J1939 can not work please select J1708)
Notice:Here please don’t select “Auto Detect”,some Cummings ECM can not support.
Click “NEXT” to continue
Default connection name is ok,click “NEXT” to continue
The ECM connection wizard has successfully configured the new connection,click “Finish”
Now here click “Connect” to start connection,it will work well.
Note:If J1939 protocol can not work,please try it again by build J1708 connection.
