How to tell hydraulic and electric power steering system

All of vehicle owner know that vehicle steering wheel equip with power steering system.If your car does not equip with it,you will hardly to turn your steering wheel.In this article i will share how to tell hydraulc and electric power steering system.

 

Different kind of power steering system can be roughly determined by feel when you turn steering wheel.

  • If you turn the steering wheel easily and slightly,even just one finger can turn the steering wheel when you driving car at low speed.It can be judged that the car equiped with electric power steering system.

  • If you turn the steering wheel heavily when car running at low speed.The car is equiped with hydraulic power steering system.

In addition,there is a hydraulic oil tank installed in the engine compartment which be marked with a steering wheel logo.Electric steering wheel is not equiped with hydraulic oil tank.According to these symptoms,you can tell which kind of power steering system equiped on your car.
