How to Use Volvo PTT Diagnostic a Fault Code

Procedures of Volvo PTT Diagnostic Fault Code:

After connecting the hardware to your vehicle,open the Volvo PTT.

Then PTT connect to your vehicle build communication.

Then select “Diagnose”

Step 1:Select symptoms

Select the symptom from the catalogue,here I choice “Engine cranks but does not start”

Note:Step 1 “Select syptoms are not required during the Diagnose Process”

You also can enter your symptoms into the search button

After you select the symptoms,Click the “Continue”

 

Step 2: View DTCF Information

After you clicking “Continue”,you will turn to step 2,and the DTC about Engine will show at “DTC List

You can select a DTC from the “DTC List” to get the more detail information you selected.

The detail information will display at different area:

Detail test information,service information,freeze frame information

 

How to Manually Select DTCs:

No Connection to Product

The product is  not connection to the computer.Clickd Edit List to manually add DTCs.

Set a status for the DTCs that you want to add to the DTC list.To change the status of a DTC,click the Status column of that DTC.To filter the list,enter text in Filter DTC.All DTCs containing that text will automatically be shown.

Select the DTCs you want to add it by “active”

When finish Click “OK”,to populate your DTCs List

When finishing,click “Continue”.

 

 

Step 3: Run Diagnostics

This will show the “Product Status”

Position the cursor over the objects in the views for additional information

Click the “info” icon to view the electrical architecture for identified product,the current status of the DTCs and the communication with diagnostic tool

Select a DTC and click Start to continue

This is Hub Navigation or Hub Managed Diagnostic (HMD)

Note:Hub Navigation or HMD is only available for Data Link fault tracing OBD2013 and newer.

You can click the “Help” icon if you need to get the “Quick Guide”.

Click “Yes” to complete the “Quick Guide”

Click the number to open the information of each section

Click “Close” back

 

Please Note:Different icons can be displayed depending on the fault tracing selected.

 

Click the down catalogue to open the detecd.It contain useful information for technicians to help diagnose the system

 

Click a control unit to get more detail information about the detected DTC.

This DTC show the trouble of CAN Communication Backbone 2 Net—Bus off on Data link 2

Click “Close”

In this example,”Data link”we choice “ISO 14229 B82(DL2)”

Component select “ECM”, then click “Update view”

After selecting updating,you are now start to fault tracing

Wiring harmness and connector check

Control unit supply voltage check

Datalink voltage check

Datalink resistance check

Battery check

……
