Conditions Which Generate This Code:
The engine speed is above the trip point for engine overspeed. Refer to Table.
Note: This event code represents an event. This does not represent an electronic system fault.
Note: The electronic service tool can be used to change the trip points for engine overspeed.
System Response:
The event code will be logged.
The event may be viewed by using a display module or by using the electronic service tool.
Possible Performance Effect:
E362-1
The warning lamp will be illuminated and the diagnostic lamp will flash the event code.
The fuel injection will be switched OFF until the engine speed drops below the trip point by 200 RPM.
E362-3
The warning lamp and the shutdown lamp will be illuminated and the diagnostic lamp will flash the event code.
If the “Enable Shutdown” parameter is enabled, the engine will be shut down.
This event indicates excessive engine speed. This event does not represent a fault in the Electronic Control Module (ECM).
This event does not represent a fault in a speed/timing sensor.
No troubleshooting is required.
